Final Workout Scoring

One of the biggest gripes about Games scoring is that in later rounds once the cuts have been made, since there are fewer participants, its harder to make up a large point loss. You could concievable be in 6th place going into the finale but be 15 point from 1st and you have no mathimatical chance to win.

So, i am introducing what I call the Winner is the Winner scoring!

Coming into the super finale, your point advantages will be converted into seconds of head start. Depending on the spread of points, I may use a multiple, but it will be fixed for all athltes. So, say tContinue Reading

yes... they keep going while their pace horse is pacing! While the person behind them is going, they can continue to score points via doing more rounds/reps.
    Snatch
If an athlete finishes the triplet before the next athlete completes the buy-in, do they continue to go through the triplet? For example, if athlete 1 finishes the triplet while athlete 2 is still doing the buy-in then athlete 1 can start going through the triplet again. Correct?

I think you mean axle bars, not axel. An axel is most commonly known for being a figure skating jump! :)

A few notes about setting up tents this year.

We have permission from the park to use the large grass field to the East of the concrete pad where our main events will be going of.  I have highlighted the area here

    Two very important notes:

    • Gas Works Park, as the name implies is a reclaimed gas works project... evidentally they made some really nast stuff here back in the day. As such the EPA and thusly the Seattle Parks will not let people stick stuff into the ground. SO... to you that means.. no tent statkes can be used.
    • The gravel road must be kept clear

The second team workout to be announce is the Team Sandbag Hill run.

Do all four teammates need to do the same number of laps? Or if there is an injured teammate can they complete one lap and the rest of the team finishes moving the weights in two laps or whatever?

The first individual workout is a one rep max thruster.

Each athlete will have 3 minutes to establish their 1 rep max thruster.  They will have their own dedicated station, with a bar and a stack of dedicated weights. Athletes will load their own weights.

    Notes:

    Judges will be watching for:

  • Athletes to hit the bottom, with hips below knees
  • Athletes to hit the top, with full arm extension, knee extension and hip extension.  Straight stack between knees and bar.
  • Athletes may not pause or reset on the way up, it must be one continous flow.
  • No jerkinContinue Reading

I'm hoping that lesser (non-Firebreathing) mortals get a rack, but realistically I expect they will be squat clean thrusters for everyone. Thruster ladders at the Games are from the ground, for example.
    Kb_avatar_small
Still would like to know the answer to the previous question. Will the bar start from a rack or will it need to be cleaned to perform the thruster?
    Kb_avatar_small
Will the bar start in a front rack position or from the ground?
    Mike_hat
Yes all individuals. Heats will be broken up by your division however.

Is this for both Firebreather and Open Division?

They will then move in a sequence through this modified bear complex, each athlete completing their reps before the subsequent athlete can start.

I registered as a judge and was curious if we would receive information on the day, such as time to be there, where to make contact and with whom.... and so on?
    Kb_avatar_small
I NEED TO KNOW what the competition entails...
    Mike_hat
Chris you do not need to worry about that. As long as the team is registered, we do not care whom the individuals are till the day of the event.
